====== About me ======

I obtained a Ph.D. in 2014 on the topic "Modelling and establishment of plant indicators of ecological status for semiarid mediterranean saline wetlands" at the Ecology and Hydrology department of the University of Murcia (Spain).

I have been working as a grantholder at the [[https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/institutes/ies|IES-JRC]] in Ispra (Italy, 2013-2015) supporting the [[http://dopa.jrc.ec.europa.eu|DOPA's modeling web service eHabitat]] and at [[http://www.bc3research.org|BC3]] for the [[http://aries.integratedmodelling.org/|ARIES project]]. Other professional experience comprises international project management at [[http://www.ttz-bremerhaven.de/en|ttz-Bremerhaven]] (Germany, 2006-2007).

My research interests, in a broad sense, are landscape ecology, remote sensing and ecosystem modeling. Currently, my research focuses on developing open source interoperable socio-ecological spatio-dynamic models and web services in relation to terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems and their services. I am also especially interested in implicitly or explicitly adding the panarchy and resilience concepts to those models.
