Sergio Fernández Riquelme received a MS degree in History in 2006, and a PhD degree in Social Policy from the University of Murcia (Spain) in 2009. He is professor of History and Social Policy at the Department of Sociology and Social Policy, Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Social Work (nowadays), also member the Research Group on Social Policy “Seminario de Política Social Luis Olariaga” (University of Murcia). He has developed several courses on Social Policy, Social Work and Mediation. He specializes in the history and theory of European social Policy. His current research interests lie in corporatist theory and the community Social Policy. He has published more than 50 refereed papers in different journals in these fields. Prof. Fernández is member of ESPANET (Network for European Social Policy Analysis), and he is also member of several Spanish associations such as the REPS (Red española de Política social). Finally, Prof. Fernández has been very active in topics related to the Historical science. He has published several papers on historical issues. He is referee in the journal REVISTA ESPAÑOLA DE SALUD PÚBLICA (Ministerio de Sanidad y Política social) and editor of journal LA RAZON HISTORICA (founded in 2007).
