MARÍA JOSÉ CERVELL HORTAL

Catedrática de Derecho Internacional Público y Relaciones Internacionales.

Es profesora de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Murcia desde 1999. Su Tesis Doctoral, sobre el régimen jurídico internacional de las armas químicas, obtuvo en 2005 el Premio Nacional de Investigación del Ministerio de Defensa. Ha sido investigador visitante en el Centro Lauterpacht de Derecho Internacional de la Universidad de Cambridge (Visiting Fellow, 2004) y en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Oxford (Visiting Academic, 2017). Ha llevado a cabo otras estancias de investigación en la Biblioteca del Palacio de la Paz (La Haya, 1998, 2011), la Organización para la Prohibición de las Armas Químicas (2002), el Centro de Derecho Internacional de la Universidad Libre de Bruselas (2007) y la Biblioteca del Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos (Estrasburgo, 2015).

Professor of Public International Law and International Relations.

She has been a Lecturer in Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Murcia (Spain) since October 1999. Her PhD thesis, on the the international legal regime of chemical weapons was awarded the Spanish Ministry of Defense Research Prize in 2005.

She has been a Visiting Fellow in the Lauterpacht Center for International Law (Cambridge University, 2004) and an Academic Visitor in the Faculty of Law (Oxford University, 2017). She has also developed some research stays in the Peace Palace Library (The Hague, 1998, 2011), the Organisation for the Chemical Weapons (2002), the International Law Centre of ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles, 2007) and the European Court of Human Rights Library (Strasbourg, 2015).
