About Me

I am Ramón y Cajal research fellow at the Department of Informatics and Systems of the Computer Science Faculty at the University of Murcia. I hold a European PhD degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Murcia (2011). I was visiting researcher at the UCL (London, UK, 2010) and postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Medical Informatics from the Medical University of Graz, Austria (2012-2019) at the Biomedical Semantics Team leaded by Prof. Stefan Schulz. In 2019 I was awarded with a grant for young investigators from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (JIN program, project DATA4HEALTH). I am member of The Regional BioHealth Research Institute/Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biosanitaria (IMIB).

My current research activity is developed within the field of Biomedical Informatics. More specifically, the application of semantic technologies on biomedical data, i.e. knowledge representation and management. See the research projects section for more information.
