I obtained a Ph.D. in 2014 on the topic “Modelling and establishment of plant indicators of ecological status for semiarid mediterranean saline wetlands” at the Ecology and Hydrology department of the University of Murcia (Spain).

I have been working as a grantholder at the IES-JRC in Ispra (Italy, 2013-2015) supporting the DOPA's modeling web service eHabitat and at BC3 for the ARIES project. Other professional experience comprises international project management at ttz-Bremerhaven (Germany, 2006-2007).

My research interests, in a broad sense, are landscape ecology, remote sensing and ecosystem modeling. Currently, my research focuses on developing open source interoperable socio-ecological spatio-dynamic models and web services in relation to terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems and their services. I am also especially interested in implicitly or explicitly adding the panarchy and resilience concepts to those models.
