ABSTRACT
Information and communication technologies have more
and more relevance in our society. E-learning is one of the activities
that may take great advantage of these technological advances. One of
the most significant and promising challenges is the development of
the Semantic Web, which will provide the semantic structure of web contents.
So, this technology may help in improving processes related to distance
learning. In particular, we deal with evaluation process in E-learning.
In this proposal, a semantic processing of the information involved
in evaluation processes, that is, materials, evaluation tests and test
answers. For the semantic modelling, the ontological technology will
be used, because it will allow for the efficient annotation of tests
and course contents. Moreover, a methodology for the (semi)automatic
tests evaluation will be designed and implemented; this will be based
on the created ontologies, the semantic annotations, metadata, and the
knowledge extracted from the students' answers.
OBJECTIVES
Development of ontologies for particular courses
Development of a platform based on Semantic Web Technologies for the
design of evaluation tests
Generation of ontologies from free texts corresponding to the students'
answers
Design of a methodology for evaluating courses in E-learning based
on the use of semantically annotated questions, the knowledge extracted
from the students' answers, metadata and the course ontology.
Evaluation of the methodology based on Semantic Web and NLP technologies
for evaluation in E-learning
