5.8 The Sampling Mode Menu

In the Sampling Mode menu you select the mode of sampling at the probe(s) and/or in the animation region, and hence the quantity computed and graphed or visualized by MEFiSTo-2D.

Figure 1-8: The Sampling Mode Menu.

The options are:

Vy == Ey Samples the voltage Vy in the TLM mesh.
Iz == - Hx Samples the z-component of the mesh current in the TLM mesh.
Ix == Hz Samples the x-component of the mesh current in the TLM mesh.
Izx == Hxz Samples the magnitude of the vector sum of Iz and Ix in the TLM mesh.
P(V)=sigma*Vy*Vy  Samples the quantity s(Vy)2 in the TLM mesh.
P(I)=sigma*Izx*Izx  Samples the quantity s (IZX) 2 in the TLM mesh.

The next four modes are the Johns Matrix (Section 4.3 of the "MEFiSTo-2D Theory" booklet) generation modes in which impulses emerging from the sampling point are stored. They are:

Top-Bound Impulse Samples the impulse traveling from the probe towards the TOP.
Left-Bound Impulse Samples the impulse traveling from the probe towards the LEFT
Bottom-Bound Impulse  Samples the impulse traveling from the probe towards the BOTTOM
Right-Bound Impulse Samples the impulse traveling from the probe towards the RIGHT
