This is a simulation of three bodies interacting according to the
universal gravitational law.
We provide a generic position of the Sun (always at the center), a small
planet (with the same mass as the Earth) and a big massive planet (1000
times the mass of the Earth), to see how this planet affects the orbit
of the smaller planet when it comes close to it.
Activities
Run the first situation and see how the massive planet affect the
orbit of the smaller one.
An interesting activity is to pause the simulation, drag the Sun to a
different position and play the simulation.
Now that we dragged a body, why not dragging any of the other ones?
(Please recall to pause the simulation before dragging any of
the bodies, otherwise the simulation may become unstable)
