Miguel Angel Zamora Izquierdo received the M.S. degree in Automation and Electronics and the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Murcia, Spain, in 1997 and 2003, respectively.
In 1997, he started beeing part of the Department of Engineering and Systems of the Technical University of Valencia (UPV), Valencia, Spain. In 1999, he continued his professional career at the University of Murcia as Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering. Currently, he is Full Professor at this department, where he carries out research and teaching. Temporarily, he also has been a visiting researcher at the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées (LCPC), Nantes, France.
He has been Vice-Dean at the Computer Science Faculty during six years (2004-2009). Subsequently, he has been Head of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering (2017-2020).
His research interest focuses on monitoring systems in general, and covers Internet of Things, Sensor Integration, Cyber-Physical Systems, Smart Buildings, Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Smart Cities, Precision Agriculture and Health Monitoring.
