The interaction of fast particles with condensed matter has both basic and applied interest, in order to know, analyse and/or modify the structure of matter.
Among the topics we have studied, the most outstanding and recent are the following:
differences in the energy loss by atomic or molecular ions (so called vicinage effects);
energy delivered by swift proton beams to biological targets (related to hadron therapy);
generation and transport of electrons by proton beams in materials of microelectronic or biological interest (related to ion beam lithography and radiotherapy).
