PhD in Sociology (University Complutense of Madrid) and Applied social research and data analysis specialist (Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas). He is currently Professor at the University of Murcia, where he also is Head of Department of Sociology. He has been a visiting researcher at the University of Maryland (USA) and North University (Colombia). He has been a visiting researcher at the University of Maryland (USA) and the Universidad del Norte (Colombia). He leads the Digital Society Research Group and among his preferred lines of research are virtual sociability in digital environments, the study of the effects that violent audiovisual content has on the generation of aggressive behavior or the social meaning that consumer objects acquire in everyday life. The results of his research have been discussed at different national and international congresses and published in several academic journals and books.
