The risk of predation of the European beewolf, Philanthus triangulum, on the honeybee (Apis mellifera) will be analysed from an ecogeographic perspective to evaluate the perception by the beekeepers in the Canary Islands of its impact on apiaries. For this purpose, beekeepers from two islands (Gran Canaria and La Palma) will be interviewed and a regional habitat suitability mapping will be elaborated from ecological niche models (ENM), taking into account presence records obtained in the field and from the bibliography. Based on the results, strategies will be proposed to mitigate the possible impact of predation through the relocation of apiaries in the habitats and landscapes unfavourable to the beewolf.
