About my research
I am Full Professor of Quantitative Methods for Economics and Business. My research lies at the intersection of economic growth, environmental economics, economic geography, and dynamic modelling. I study how pollution externalities, environmental policy, and intertemporal preferences affect long-run growth, social welfare, and the spatial distribution of economic activity.
My work includes endogenous growth models with environmental externalities, as well as models of industrial location, population mobility, transboundary pollution, and pollution havens. I am particularly interested in how governments’ policy decisions interact with firms’ location choices, migration, regional welfare, and the long-run dynamics of economic activity. Some of my research has also explored tourism economics, focusing on the agglomeration and dispersion forces that shape the distribution of tourism across competing destinations.
MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Hosting Offer
I am currently welcoming expressions of interest from postdoctoral researchers interested in applying for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of economic geography and environment at the University of Murcia. The proposed research line focuses on green growth, environmental policy, industrial pollution, the geographical distribution of economic activity, strategic interactions between governments, and applications to environmental challenges such as the Mar Menor.
Further information about the hosting offer, eligibility criteria, application materials, and deadline is available here: MSCA PF 2026 – UMU Hosting Offer in Economic Geography and Environment .
