Verónica Perales Blanco (Madrid, 1974). Lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Murcia where she teaches: Drawing and Form (Fine Arts), Idea y Concepto Fotográfico. Nuevas Visiones de la Imagen (MUGPA) and Locative Storytelling (Bilingual Degree, Bachelor in Communication and Media Studies). Co-founder of Transnational Temps, the international art collective, in 2001. Her artistic production emerge at the confluence of art / technology / ecology, addressing questions related to biodiversity, environmental activism (ecoartivism) and ecofeminism. Her artistic work is characterised by approaches that combine traditional techniques and emerging technologies, pointing to transmedia formats.
European PhD (2005) with a thesis exploring the relationship between the body and technology from an artistic perspective.
She has published in Spanish, English and French, including: (together with Tonia Raquejo) Arte Ecosocial: Otras maneras de pensar, hacer y sentir (2022), published by Plaza y Valdés. Other relevant national and international works she has co-authored include: The Art of Embodying the Environment: Artistic Practices for a Pedagogy of Feeling (2020) at MacGraw Hill; Spanish Thinking about Animals (2020) at East Lansing-Michigan State University Press; Ser Feministas. Pensamiento y acción (2021) at the prestigious Editorial Cátedra; Ecología y género en diálogo interdisciplinar (2015); Emerging Perspectives on the Mobile Content Evolution (2015) at IGI Global; Souffrances Animales et traditions humaines.
