I got my Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Master’s degree in Evaluation of Environmental Impacts at the University of Salento, Lecce, Italy.
I am broadly interested in fish biology and ecology and their application in MPA design and management. I’m part of a broad European project on the Monitoring of Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MMMPA, http://www.mmmpa.eu/default.asp). Currently, my work is focused on the study of larval connectivity patterns between populations of the saddled sea bream Oblada melanura using a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses otolith micro-structural and chemical analyses, genetics and biophysical larval dispersal models. My research interests include MPA effects and human impacts on protected ecosystems.
