Desde 2021 soy investigadora “Ramón y Cajal” del Departamento de Historia Moderna, Contemporánea, de América y del Pensamiento de la Universidad de Murcia, con la línea de investigación Republics of the King: agents and governance in the Hispanic Monarchy (16th and 17th centuries) (Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación). Además soy investigadora principal de los proyectos Being marginal in the Early Modern Period: Concepts and Subjects for an Updated Study of the Hispanic Monarchy (Plan Propio de la Universidad de Murcia); y El gobierno de los márgenes de la Monarquía Hispánica. Comunidades indígenas en las costas del Pacífico: Chile, siglos XVI-XVIII (Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades).

Cursé la licenciatura de Historia (2002) y obtuve el título de doctora con mención europea (2010) en la Universidad de Murcia, donde además fui premio extraordinario de doctorado (2011).

Realicé mis estudios de doctorado en la Universidad Pablo de Olavide, en el programa con mención de calidad europea Estudios sobre Europa, el mundo mediterráneo y su difusión atlántica (2004-2005), tras lo cual me incorporé como becaria FPU a la Universidad de Murcia, adscrita al área de Historia del Pensamiento y los Movimiento Sociales y Políticos (2005-2008).

Entre 2010 y 2017 he sido investigadora postdoctoral en El Colegio de México, las universidades de Stanford y Harvard y el Max Planck Institute for European Legal History (Frankfurt) y profesora del magíster de Historia de la Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello (Chile) y de la licenciatura de Historia y del postgrado de Filosofía de la Universidad Iberoamericana-Ciudad de México.

Entre 2017 y 2019 fui investigadora principal del proyecto Hombre de Dios al servicio del rey. Mediación, discursos y prácticas políticas en la Edad Moderna. Nueva España, siglos XVI y XVII (Proyecto JIN-Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad) y docente en el grado de Historia de la Universidad de Murcia, adscrita a las áreas de Historia Moderna e Historia de América.

Recientemente he realizado estancias de investigación en la Universidad Autónoma de Chile (2018), la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (2019, 2022) y la Universidad de Texas en Austin (2023).

Desde 2014 dirijo el grupo de investigación Repensar los márgenes: identidades, discursos y prácticas frente al poder (Nodo de Red Columnaria/GI del Plan Propio de la Universidad de Murcia).

Desde 2008 formo parte de la coordinación de la serie editorial Vestigios de un mismo mundo, publicado por Editum.

Soy miembro de varios grupos de trabajo: Laboratorio Mundos Coloniales y Modernos del Instituto de Historia de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (desde 2013), Red de Investigación Internacional GEOPAM (Geopolítica Americana de los siglos XVI y XVII) (desde 2018) y Grupo Interdisciplinario de Trabajo sobre Historia del Derecho Local de la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (desde 2020).

Entre 2004 y 2017 fui secretaria científica de la Red Columnaria, entre 2005 y 2019 formé parte del Grupo de Investigación Historia Social de las Instituciones de la Universidad de Murcia y entre 2017 y 2020 participé en el seminario Violencia y Memoria de la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad de Murcia.

Junto a estas colaboraciones relacionadas con la investigación, formo parte del grupo de innovación docente Docencia2cero (Unidad de Innovación de la Universidad de Murcia) y del grupo de transferencia del conocimiento Laboratorio Temporal (Vicerrectorado de Transferencia, Comunicación y Divulgación Científica de la Universidad de Murcia).


Since 2021 I am a “Ramón y Cajal” researcher and teaching assistant in the Department of History of the University of Murcia with the research line: Republics of the King: agents and governance in the Hispanic Monarchy (16th and 17th centuries) (funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation). Also I am the principal invertigator of two projects: Being marginal in the Early Modern Period: Concepts and Subjects for an Updated Study of the Hispanic Monarchy (funded by the University of Murcia); and The governance of the margins of the Hispanic Monarchy. Indogenous communities in the Pacific coasts: Chile, 16th-18th centuries (funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovaction and Universities).

I got a degree in History (2002) and a PhD in History (2010), both in the University of Murcia. In 2011 I received the Award for the Best PhD Dissertation on Humanities.

I was a student of the Doctorate Program Studies on Europe, the Mediterranean World and its Atlantic diffusion (2004-2005), after which I joined as PhD Fellow to the University of Murcia, working in the research area History of Though and Political and Social Movements (2005-2008).

Between 2010 and 2017 I was a postdoctoral researcher in El Colegio de México, the universities of Stanford and Harvard and the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History (Frankfurt). Also I was a visiting professor in Chile (Master of History, Andrés Bello University), and a teaching assistant in Mexico (Departments of History and Philosophy, Iberoamericana University).

Between 2017 and 2019 I was the Principal Investigator of the I+D+I Project Men of God in the King's service. Mediation, discurses and political practices in the Early Modern Era. New Spain, 16th and 17th centuries (JIN Project, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economics and Competiveness) and teaching assistant of Early Modern History and History of Latin America in the Department of History of the University of Murcia.

Recently I have been a visiting scholar at the Autonomous University of Chile (2018), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (2019, 2022), and the UT at Austin (2023).

Since 2014 I coordinate the research group Rethinking the margins: identities, discourses and practices facing the power (Red Columnaria/University of Murcia).

Since 2008 I take part of the coordination team of the books serie Vestigios de un mismo mundo, published by Editum.

I am member of several research group: Lab Colonial and Modern Worlds (Institute of History-Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, since 2013), International Research Network GEOPAM (since 2018), and Interdisciplinary Group on Local Law History (University of Tucuman, since 2020).

Since 2004 until 2017 I was the Scientific Secretary of Red Columnaria, between 2005 and 2019 I was a member of the Research Group Social History of the Institutions (University of Murcia), and between 2017 and 2020 I participated in the Seminar Violence and Memory (Faculty of Philosophy, University of Murcia).

In addition to these research collaborations, I take part in the group of teaching innovation Docencia2cero (Innovation Unit, University of Murcia) and the group of transfer of knowledge Laboratorio temporal (University of Murcia).
